SATURDAY NIGHT
IN CAPE TOWN!
"German International School 125 year anniversary band festival"
12.04.2008
This event was held in the beautiful scenic setting of Lion's Head and Signal Hill at the German International School in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town. Many talented young musicians from schools of the Western Cape took part in the festival marking the 125th year of the German School.
The highlight of the day was the special guest appearance of indie pop star Ike Moriz. Ike & his musos were playing to the gripping infectious sounds of his new album ALL AROUND THE WORLD while the sun set in the background colouring the vast stretching city in a beautiful gold. A stunning event. We hope the school will continue this tradition of a school band festival bringing the local communities closer together.

IKE MORIZ, ELANA AFRIKA & BROTHERS WITH VOICES
In winter 2007 Ike Moriz discovered an all South African vocal ensemble from Imizamo Yethu, Mandela Park, Hout Bay. They sing their own original material & popular South African songs which they have adapted to their traditional style of 'Isicathamiya'. Ike fell in love with their heart warming and moving songs of struggle, hope & love. He has since worked closely with these aspiring vocal acrobats and is introducing them to a wider audience on a quest of fulfilling their dream of opening the world's
hearts to their beautiful music. Both 5FM DJ Elana Afrika and Ike Moriz joined this group on this occasion to support its cause. (see video snippet below of ike's new single).
